Volunteering with CORPS de LBS
CORPS de LBS consists of a leadership team who plans for the school season;
however, did you know that all enrolled at The Louisville Ballet School are members of CORPS?
This means ALL are always invited to be part of CORPS experiences from Back to Ballet events, working in the Nutcracker Gift Shop, Spring Dance Festival events or just getting together to have a cup of coffee. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to share your thoughts, talents, and questions.
CORPS would like to extend a welcoming invitation for any new or returning Academy, Classical Ballet, and Pre-Professional parents to consider joining us in a leadership role, chair position, or simply as a reliable super-star-volunteer!
Please email: corps@louisvilleballet.org for more information on how to fill your dance card and get more involved with our community of volunteers!
The Nutcracker Giftshop to Benefit
The Louisville Ballet School
The largest fundraising effort for the entire school year. This community-loved gift shop has grown from a single table in the lobby of the Kentucky Center to a full-on retail shopping experience. In order to have continued success and reach our ambitious goals each season, we need every Sugar Plum and Toy Soldier to help us get crackin’. Volunteering is a fun way to interact with The Louisville Ballet School staff, students, and our community.
Thanks to the incredible efforts of CORPS and Nutcracker Gift Shop teams, as well as all of our families that have worked shifts, assisted in merchandising, scheduling, crafting and all of the labor involved in this monumental undertaking, we are happy to report that we netted $74,000 for our School during the 2024 run of The Brown-Forman Nutcrakcer. Not only do these dollars help offset the cost of our LBYE attending the annual Regional Dance America Festival, the dollars raised enable us to provide ongoing faculty development for ALL of our teachers through Danscend Mental Wellness Continuing Education and Dancio Teacher Certification Continuing Education.
Volunteers help make our school an even better place and there are many opportunities to help. WOULD YOU PLIÉ-SE JOIN US? Contact us at corps@louisvilleballet.org or drop by The Nutcracker Gift Shop World Headquarters located in the back left corner of the St. Matthew’s location.
