Discover Dance is our NEW Children’s Program monthly series open to ages 6 months to 5 years. Each month, tiny dancers will step into a new theme through creative movement, music, stories, props, imaginative play, and more. Discover Dance is a fun, low-pressure opportunity to move, create, and experience the joy of dance at The Louisville Ballet School — no session-long commitment required! Discover Dance events are $10 per event, and free for current families of The Louisville Ballet School.

Discover Dance: Not So Spooky Halloween Party
Wednesday, October 21, 2026
Dancers are invited to wear their favorite costume and enjoy an hour of Halloween-themed dancing, and movement games and activities.

What to Wear

Participants may wear ballet class attire or active wear, adaptable for movement.

We will take off our shoes to dance. If your student does not want to dance barefoot, please send socks with them to wear. If your dancer already has ballet or jazz shoes that fit, they are welcome to wear them; however, there is no need to purchase formal dance shoes.
**Dancers 3 and under must be accompanied by one grown-up inside the studio, and dancers 4–5 must have a grown-up on site.*

School's Out Camps
School's Out Camps is open to ages 6 to 12 years. This half day offering includes introductory classes in ballet, jazz, and hip hop. Dancers will be divided into groups by age and have the opportunity to learn more about each dance style in 50 minute classes. School's Out Camps are $40 per event or $75 for two consecutive events.

Early drop off is available at 8:30 am and late check out is available until 12:30 pm.
What to Wear:

Student should wear dance attire or form fitting athletic attire. We suggest leggings or shorts and a t-shirt. Clothing should not restrict movement.If your student is wearing a skirt or dress, please have them wear shorts or leggings underneath.
Formal dance class attire is NOT required. -

If possible, students’ hair should be pulled back off their face in a braid, bun or ponytail. Headbands work great for hair that is too short to pull back.
Nutcracker Workshops
Join us for a special Nutcracker Workshop this holiday season at our St. Matthews Studios for an evening of magic and movement, dancing, games, and a craft to take home. Open to ages 3 to 7 years. Don't miss out on all the fun! Space is limited.

Ballet shoes are encouraged. Lenders will be available for participants who don't have ballet shoes.
